Pau-Orthez ace Molas has expressed his thoughts on the glamorous encounter that will see the Heat’s blockbuster collision with the Nets on an exceptional night in London.
The Frenchman has tipped two players to be the stars of the show, Olympic champion Dwayne Wade for the Floridians, and dunk master Vince Carter for NJ, and has expanded on their qualities.
“Wade is an outstanding clutch player thanks to his fantastic physical qualities and is not scared of challenging monsters in the paint,” Molas told setantasports.com.
"He proved to be a magician during the 2005/2006 finals. He’s at the top of the tree season in, season out despite suffering many injuries, and he proved it during the last Olympics.
“To me he’s a humble guy despite his superstar status and plays the typical NBA basketball that we love.”
“Carter is a flying man!” Molas added. “He trivializes the toughest dunks and makes hundreds of fans dream all around the world.
“He spent more time above the rim than on the ground during his time with the Toronto Raptors. Carter is the definition of a showman, so easy in the air when he jams the ball into the net.
“But he’s not only a spectacular basketball player as he also managed to help the Raptors reach the play-offs. He left a trace in the history of the NBA and wrote his own..flying legend.”
Nevertheless, Molas regrets Jason Kidd’s summer transfer to the Dallas Mavericks, as the money-time specialist is a big loss for the Nets.
“It’s a shame that Jason Kidd won’t be at the O2, as he is the typical altruist point guard who makes his team better thanks to his science of the game,” he added. “He knows all the different types of killer passes you can do and controls the game’s tempo.
“His vision on the ground is just outstanding and he’s a tall guard like (France legend) Antoine Rigaudeau used to be. He’s also a triple-double expert that deserved to win the Beijing Olympics with Team USA.”
