Singh: I can win again in Boston
by Richard Field, 28 August 2008
Vijay Singh is confident he can claim a third title from five starts at the Deutsche Bank Championship which starts on Friday.
The FedEx Cup points leader, after his win at The Barclays last week, Singh is talking up his chances of winning back to back play-off events at TPC Boston.
Singh is now reaping the rewards from his swing-change programme, and a new belly putter which has proved beneficial on the greens.
"I've had good outings in Boston. I've won there and finished second once. I know the golf course pretty well so I'm looking forward to that,” Singh said on Reuters.
Singh is not only focusing on doing well at the Deutsche Bank Championship, but also keeping ahead of the chasing pack in the race for the $10,000,000 bonus for winning the FedEx Cup.
"I've got a great start and I just have to go ahead and play hard for the next three other events,” added the world number five.
"The guys behind me, the way the system works now, the next guy that wins can just overtake you.
“It's going to be tough but I've got a head start. I just have to go out there and play consistent, solid golf and hopefully win at the end."
