Chambers to appeal ban

Dwain Chambers has confirmed his intention to appeal against his lifetime Olympic ban.
Under current British Olympic Association [BOA] rules, Chambers is banned from competing at the Games after serving a two-year suspension for doping offences - he tested positive for the prohibited substance THG in August 2003.
"We can confirm that Dwain Chambers will be taking proceedings to secure his eligibility/participation in the Olympic and National trials in Birmingham from 11-13 July," said Nick Collins, the athlete's lawyer, in a statement.
The sprinter met with UK Sport's anti-doping chief John Scott on Friday to outline his drugs regime and to help the body gain an insight into how cheats are continuing to beat the testers.
Having served his suspension, Chambers returned to the sport in 2006 before trying his hand at American Football in Germany. However, he was lured back to athletics and went on to claim the 60m silver medal at the World Indoor Championships in March.
His success in Valencia confirmed his ability to compete at the highest level but the ban prevents him from participating in the ultimate event.
As a result, the 30-year-old Londoner will go to the High Court in July hoping to have the ban overturned in time for him to travel to Beijing for this year's Games.
