Wanderlei to murder Jardine's dreams
by Ben Blackmore, 14 May 2008
Wanderlei Silva has predicted a ‘fast knock-out’ when he attempts to shatter Keith Jardine’s title dreams at “UFC 84: ILL WILL”.
“The Axe Murderer” is box office, win or lose, as he proved against Chuck Liddell in his last fight – arguably the greatest collision ever witnessed in The UFC.
Dana White, UFC president, summed Silva up: “Wanderlei Silva’s mentality is: ‘I might win, I might lose, whatever. But what I care about it is I go in and fight.’
“This guy loves to f*****g fight. That’s what he loves to do. And what means most to him is that when he walks out of that Octagon, people come up and say to him ‘that was a great fight’.”
Now Silva takes on Jardine, whose last fight was also against Liddell. The only difference being Jardine beat “The Iceman”.

“I want to want. I train to win. I love the show,” stated a relaxed Silva. “Every time you come and fight me, I give my best. This time will be the same.
“I’m going for the knock-out – to be beat him so fast. I’m going to beat him. I’m going to give a good knock-out to him.”
The fight hasn’t been granted main-event status – that goes to BJ Penn’s lightweight title defence against Sean Sherk.
But Dana White underlined the importance of the Silva-Jardine clash, telling the latter a title shot could be riding on it.
“Keith Jardine is a tough guy and he’s on his way right now. He’s got some big wins on his belt, and he’s right in line for a title shot,” confirmed the UFC president.
“Keith is probably thinking: ‘Where am I? Are they overlooking me?’
“Believe me, nobody’s overlooking Keith Jardine.”
