Sir Alex Ferguson is tipping Jonny Evans and Rafael Da Silva to become stars of the future for Manchester United.
Ferguson is currently in charge of the top team in England, with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Dimitar Berbatov at his disposal.
Although focused on the present, the Scot also has an eye on the future and he feels The Red Devils are well placed with a clutch of youngsters ready to break through.
"We’ve got a group of young players who are doing very well and showing fantastic potential,” said Ferguson.
"Rafael Da Silva, his brother Fabio, Rodrigo Possebon, Darron Gibson, Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck are the type of youngsters we’ve always tried to have here in the last 15 years or so.
"They can take over from the younger lads in the squad who will move into the middle-age section and they, in time, become the older players.
"That’s what you call managing change."
Brazilian full back Rafael has long been tipped to make the grade, but Evans spent time on loan at Sunderland and there were suggestions he could be moved on.
Ferguson, though, is in no doubt the Northern Ireland international has a key role to play for United.
He added: "Evans will be a future United centre half, there’s no question about that.
"He’s 20-years-old and in a few years' time his career is absolutely guaranteed.
"Young Rafael is an outstanding talent. He proved that against Aalborg. He’s an attacking player with great belief in himself."
