Champions League draw

Manchester United and Celtic meet again after the Champions League draw in Monaco pitted the holders with Gordon Strachan's SPL champions, Villarreal and Aalborg.

Giuseppe Rossi returns to his former club and there is a similar reunion in Group D as Liverpool face Atletico Madrid. Fernando Torres and Luis Garcia come against their old pals with the Spanish side rounding off a tough group that also contains PSV Eindhoven and Marseille.

Chelsea take on Roma, Bordeaux and Romanian champions CFR Cluj while Arsenal must overcome Porto, Fenerbahce and Dynamo Kiev.

Group H looks tricky on paper with Real Madrid, Juventus and Uefa Cup holders Zenit St Petersburg joined by new boys from Belarus in BATE Borisov.

Barcelona, Sporting, Basel and Shakhtar Donetsk are in Group C while Inter, Werder Bremen, Panathinaikos and Anorthosis Famagusta clash in Pool B.

The remaining group contains Lyon, Bayern Munich, Steaua Bucharest and Fiorentina.

Football Poll

Who was England's best player?

Setanta readers' comment of the day

“While all big teams (Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool) were busy protecting their best players, Arsenal was in forefront encouraging injury prone Walcott to participate in that useless freindly. Arsenal has a very thin squad and I remember Walcott said it but Wenger didn't take action to add some players. Arsenal players are not made of steel and Wenger should be prepared for such situation. We need Arsenal supporters on the board of Arsenal who can feel the way we feel when the team is losing and they can force Wenger to buy some experience players. Current board members are only interested in profits yet they (profits) don't go into history of the club”
