Harry: Plans afoot for next season
by Tom Kell, 16 May 2008
Harry Redknapp admits to being nonplussed over reports that Saturday’s FA Cup final will be his final game as Portsmouth manager.
Thursday’s Daily Mail claimed Redknapp was set to walk away from Fratton Park after the Wembley showpiece with Cardiff as a result of his anger at being arrested as part of a football corruption probe earlier in the season.
Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie moved quickly to dismiss the report as ‘utter rubbish’, adding Redknapp was ‘fuming’.

The manager has now spoken out to reiterate to Pompey fans that he is already compiling plans for the next campaign.
“I don’t know where all this stuff comes from,” he said in The Sun. “I’m going nowhere apart from Wembley and then off on a holiday with my wife Sandra to recharge the batteries.
“But the mobile will be coming along because there are a few players I need to get in. Then I’ll be back refreshed for the new challenge of a new season at Pompey.
“Yes it’s been a long, hard 10 months or so for a variety of reasons everyone knows about.
“But to suggest I’m about to pack it in is rubbish. Anyway, I’m not sure my missus will want me at home cluttering up the house!”
Despite seeing the furore surrounding his arrest die down, Redknapp admits the incident left a bitter taste.
“I’ll never forget it, or get over it,” he added. “It was a disgrace. People say I shouldn’t keep upsetting the police but I’m not bothered. I’ve done nothing wrong.”
