United ace opens door to Bordeaux

Manchester United’s Mikael Silvestre has admitted to being a Bordeaux fan, and returning to Ligue 1 after a 10-year absence is a possibility.
The Red Devils defender missed the majority of the season due to a knee ligament injury but is now back to action. After such a long absence, his long-term future might now be in his homeland.
Laurent Blanc is looking for a left back to play Champions League football and the experienced Silvestre is top of his list.
The former Rennes and Inter player has revealed he has held talks with the Ligue 1 Manager of the Year, but he is not prepared to make a big financial sacrifice.
“It is not impossible,” Silvestre told L’Equipe about a move to Stade Chaban-Delmas.
“Bordeaux are the club of my heart. As a kid, I followed their exploits in the European Cup.
“And I have family in Gironde.
“Everybody has to be happy with it [a potential move], on the sport and financial level.
“In this world, you cannot offer gifts. I am not a Good Samaritan.
“Bordeaux, as well, must give themselves the means to be competitive.”
