Drogba: My dream is Milan
by Chris Stanton, 14 May 2008
Temperamental Chelsea striker Didier Drogba claims he has his heart set on a move to Milan.
Drogba is preparing for The Blues’ Champions League final date with Premier League rivals Manchester United next week but the match could be his last in Chelsea colours.
The Ivorian, who has cut a frustrated figure for spells this season, admitted that he revealed his dream to play for Milan to Rossoneri legend Paulo Maldini.
Drogba said: “All footballers dream of signing for AC Milan. I explained to Paolo Maldini that Milan is a club I would love to join.”
In the player’s autobiography, C’etait pas gagne, Drogba also revealed a chance meeting with Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani last year.
Galliani allegedly asked him, ‘When would you like to play for Milan?’ To which Drogba replied: “Whenever you want, it’s all up to you - get the money ready and go see Chelsea.”
